FC Británico produced a remarkable response in Segunda Regional Group 21, defeating C.D. Sporting Laguna B 14–4 at Cotorruelo in what was a club record win and their biggest victory of the season so far.
The hosts started on the front foot and quickly took control of the contest. Calum Cant opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal-of-the-season contender before Romain Nitcheu doubled the lead seven minutes later. Dale Cochrane, who was later named Man of the Match, added the third with a composed finish as FC Británico began to overwhelm their opponents. Further goals from Martin Antonini and Rasmus Raahauge — his first for the club — followed in a relentless first-half spell. Cant then completed his hat-trick before John O’Hagan, who also provided three assists on the day, struck twice before the break to make it 9–0 at half-time.
Sporting Laguna pulled two back early in the second half, but FC Británico maintained their dominance and attacking rhythm. Nitcheu added his second before Romain Chik and Padraig Slane found the net — the latter’s first goals for the club — with Slane later doubling his tally. Nitcheu then completed his hat-trick to round off the scoring at 14–4.
It was a complete team performance, featuring eight different scorers, tireless energy across the pitch, and sharp link-up play in attack. The result highlighted both the squad’s depth and their response to adversity, with several players marking milestone moments in an unforgettable performance.
Next up will be a tougher challenge — a top-of-the-table clash against CR Guindalera, where FC Británico will look to maintain their momentum in what promises to be one of the defining fixtures of the early season.
